The Jets Will Lose, but the Jets D/ST Will Be a Top-8 Fantasy Defense

It doesn't feel right betting against a good Minnesota Vikings offense, and over the past few seasons it has felt very bad betting on the New York Jets, but here we are. The Jets are currently our ninth-ranked defense on the back of two games with eight total interceptions and three defensive touchdowns -- according to SharpFootballStats.com, the Jets defense has faced the fourth-easiest schedule in the league so far.

The Jets defense has created 15 turnovers through six weeks, good for the second-most in the league. We should expect some regression for the team as their schedule becomes more difficult, but not this week. The Vikings have been surprisingly giving to opposing fantasy defenses this year.

The Vikings offensive line has been struggling, which has led Kirk Cousins to face a near-unprecedented level of pressure each week. He's taken the seventh-most sacks (18) through six weeks, and since Week 3 has committed six fumbles.

Good D/ST's for fantasy generally come from home teams and from favorites. The Jets play at home this week, but are currently 3.5-point underdogs. We have the Jets D/ST ranked 18th for Week 7 -- likely because they are dogs to this Cousins-led Vikings team -- but their propensity for creating turnovers coupled with the Vikings porous offensive line will keep them in play as a top eight defense for fantasy this week.
