Baker Mayfield Will Finish as a Top-5 Fantasy Quarterback

This is the week. Baker Mayfield is going to torch the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their 31st-ranked pass defense. The only thing standing in his way? His own pass-catchers' hands.

This is the perfect spot for the rookie quarterback. The Bucs are allowing opposing quarterbacks to complete an incredible, league-leading 76.8% of their pass attempts for an adjusted 10.7 yards per attempt and 355.6 yards per game. They've basically made every quarterback they've played look like Drew Brees in the Superdome. Their pass defense is so bad that they've allowed the second-most passing yards in the league while playing one fewer game than most other teams in the league.

The Bucs finally addressed part of the issue and fired defensive coordinator Mike Smith, but we shouldn't expect any big changes just one week after installing a new coordinator. This game could easily end up as a shootout, like every game with the Bucs (except for the lopsided loss to the Chicago Bears) has been so far this season. We currently have the game projected for a total of 50.5 points, meaning there should be plenty of scoring on both sides.

Mayfield has faced his share of struggles this season, but the Buccaneers present his easiest matchup yet. He'll finish Week 7 as a top 5 fantasy quarterback.
