3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 3/1/21

Gary Trent has tremendous three-point upside tonight, giving him plenty of potential. Is he one of the top value plays on the slate?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Gary Trent, SG, Portland Trail Blazers ($5,500)

If you like three-pointers and scoring upside, Gary Trent is the player for you tonight.

Trent has hoisted eight three-point attempts or more in seven straight games, including double-digit attempts in each of his last five games. He is hitting those shots from downtown at a 41.6% clip this season and always brings serious scoring upside to your DFS lineups. Tonight, we could see that upside on full display against the Charlotte Hornets, who are allowing the second-most (15.1) made three-pointers by their opponents per game.

Trent will see the ball plenty since he carries the second-highest usage rate (23.2%) among the Portland Trail Blazers starters, which has led to him producing 1.00 FanDuel points per minute. That usage and scoring should be front and center tonight with a 232.5-point over/under against the Hornets, a matchup which sees the Trail Blazers playing up in pace.

Patrick Williams, PF, Chicago Bulls ($4,900)

Since power forward is a weaker position tonight, we should look for some value here.

It's clear that point guard, shooting guard, and center are the elite positions tonight and that is where you should prioritize spending. At only $4,900, we have Patrick Williams, who is playing big minutes for the Chicago Bulls and producing solid fantasy points. Over his last six games, Williams has posted 28 FanDuel points or more four times and is doing so on a very modest 15.6% usage rate. Tonight's matchup versus the Denver Nuggets should be a good one with the total set at 226 points and a close 4.5-point spread.

The Nuggets are allowing 46.54 FanDuel points per game to opposing power forwards, which is 12th in the league. But, the Nuggets are going to be without JaMychal Green and Paul Millsap, making their frontcourt a bit smaller and easier to attack. Williams should be in a good spot to see above 30 minutes while pushing towards 30 FanDuel points.

DeAndre Jordan, C, Brooklyn Nets ($4,700)

DeAndre Jordan is the second-best value option at center tonight -- let's talk about it.

The Brooklyn Nets are taking on the San Antonio Spurs tonight with a 234-point over/under in a contest that sees both teams in the top 12 for offensive pace. This should lead to plenty of scoring on both sides, and even though this game has plenty of stars on each side, the value options are very much worth considering. As noted above, Jordan is the second-best value at center tonight and is projected for 23.03 minutes and 25.7 FanDuel points.

Jordan has surpassed 20 FanDuel points in five of his last seven games, and with the Spurs allowing 51.86 FanDuel points per game to opposing centers this season, he should have no issue reaching his projections tonight.
