3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 5/25/17

Even on a short DFS main slate, it's difficult to recommend using these three players tonight.

The FanDuel main slate shrinks to just five games tonight, and among the limited pitching options, Jacob deGrom ($11,000) stands out as the clear-cut king of the mound against the lowly San Diego Padres.

However, there's rain in the forecast, so if forced to pivot we have the risky high-strikeout-and-walk wire act of Robbie Ray ($9,200), who gets the Milwaukee Brewers on the road. The Texas Rangers have been poor against southpaws (24.3% strikeout rate and 77 wRC+), putting Drew Pomeranz ($7,500) in play.

It's worth noting that Dinelson Lamet ($6,000) is making his major league debut against the New York Mets. Across eight starts in Triple-A he's had an eye-popping 29.9% strikeout rate, but he's struggled with control (12.0% walk rate). He's probably more of a two-pitcher site play, but at his price you could go crazy with bats in a GPP lineup.

On the hitting menu, the Boston Red Sox have by far the highest implied team total (5.23) versus Nick Martinez, and the Arizona Diamondbacks are in a nice spot against Zach Davies.

As for the main course, here are three guys to avoid this evening.
