Super Bowl Betting Futures Update: Week 14

We are into the season's final five weeks, and the two teams have disappeared from post-season consideration. The 1-10-1 Houston Texans and the 3-10 Chicago Bears can officially forget about winning the Super Bowl this season. However, only the most optimistic of fans of either team would have entertained such thoughts over the last few weeks.

With those two out of the picture, only 30 teams remain with a chance to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy at the end of the 2022 season.

FanDuel Sportsbook has the latest odds for every team to win the title this year, as you can see below. You will also find the odds of contenders according to our metrics at numberFire.

After a week off the top spot, the Buffalo Bills are once again the favorites to win the Super Bowl. This move comes after their Week 13 win over the New England Patriots coupled with the Kansas City Chiefs, who held the top spot last week, losing at the suddenly surging Cincinnati Bengals. The 11-1 Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys, Philly's NFC East rivals, round out the top four.

The San Francisco 49ers saw their odds fall from +650 to +1200 this week despite their Week 13 win over the Miami Dolphins. This is largely due to the season-ending injury suffered by quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. The 49ers will now rally around Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy and hope their defense can carry them the rest of the way. The 49ers are ranked fourth overall in defensive nERD, according to our metrics.

After the Texans and Bears saw their seasons all but end in Week 13, there are several teams who could suffer the same fate in Week 14. The reigning Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams, sitting at +100000, will be eliminated from the postseason if they lose this week. The Arizona Cardinals will also say goodbye to title glory if they lose and the Seattle Seahawks win and the New York Giants win or tie. Suffice it to say, the Cardinals +75000 isn't looking too good a bet right now.

In the AFC, the Denver Broncos, still available at +100000, are almost at the end of their 2022 journey. A Week 14 loss will officially eliminate them from the postseason, a fate befitting a season that has seen them trot out one of the worst offenses in the NFL. They rank 30th in offensive nERD, ahead of only the Texans and the Indianapolis Colts. Broncos Country won't be riding anywhere nice anytime soon.
