Cam Newton, having recovered from a bevy of injuries and unfortunate incidences that plagued him and his team last season, has been straight beasting this season, and that doesn't figure to stop in Week 8 as he draws a great matchup against the Colts.

The Panthers aren't as bad on offense as they were expected to be entering the season, currently ranking as the eight-best offense in the league per our numbers. This is in large part due to Newton, who has posted an impressive Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) total of 17.09 points above expectation, second in the league among quarterbacks. He's also first in rushing attempts among quarterbacks with 46 through six games, resulting in 4 touchdown runs.

Newton's rushing abilities and opportunities are what provides him a safe floor for cash games (averaging 4.5 FanDuel points per game on the ground alone) and enormous upside for tournaments, and the 22nd ranked Colts' rushing defense should help improve the output of his runs. Moreover, the Colts also rank 28th against the pass per our schedule-adjusted numbers, so Newton, who has contributed to 81% of his team's total offensive touchdowns, should be able to put up points with his arm and his legs.

With an implied point total of 26.5 against the leaky Colts defense, look for Newton to provide high-floor, high-ceiling upside on Monday night.
