6 Players Who Are Tough to Trust in Week 16

LeSean McCoy, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

This is essentially the same principle for LeSean McCoy as it was for Forte: you're not benching him, but you will want to alleviate some risk around him for this week. Last week, against a highly-susceptible Dallas run defense, Eagles' running backs scored 24 fantasy points. Unfortunately, Shady had only six of those, as backup Chris Polk vultured two touchdowns on the day. This may be just gameflow, but I think it's always a fair assumption that one of the most heavily-worked backs in the league in the last few years might have his team find ways for him to not get beat up. After all, Polk took first-team reps in practice on Wednesday.

Shady is not an elite running back option in this offense each and every week, but he is a fine RB2 on most days.

This Sunday might not be one of them, however. Washington has held opposing running backs to the third-least fantasy points in 2014, and even in our NEP metrics, they come in at fifth in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP. That likely diminished efficiency is not a promising notion for a player who already is losing some touches. Be cautious about McCoy, but do note that he comes in at seventh in our weekly projections.
