Running Back

Chalk

Foes last week, both Alex Collins and Le'Veon Bell should each see high ownership numbers against the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots, respectively.

Though both have been dominant in the past few weeks, Collins should prove to be the more popular play given his price and matchup. He's found the end zone in each of his last four games, scored at least 12.7 in five of his past six (including 22-plus in each of his past two), and gets a matchup against a Browns team that has allowed at least 106 total yards to an opposing back in four straight weeks. Given this, it's somewhat shocking to see that his price has only risen $700 over the past three weeks. Players should take advantage and send his ownership numbers up, up, up.

Both Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara should prove popular once again against what should be an overpowered New York Jets defense. Despite their high price tags and Kamara's concussion scare last week, both should be on everyone's short lists.

Pivots

LeSean McCoy, $8,500 (vs. Miami Dolphins)

McCoy's Buffalo Bills are 3.5-point home favorites against Miami, a team that ranks 30th in points per game to starting running backs. Further, McCoy has handled 38.8% of the Bills' carries and targets this season, third-highest of all running backs. Getting Tyrod Taylor back under center for this week helps McCoy's prospects, and he should go overlooked among expensive running backs.

Latavius Murray, $6,200 (vs. Cincinnati Bengals)

After four solid weeks in a row, Murray came back down to earth last week. The Minnesota Vikings fell behind early to the Panthers and had to play catch-up, rendering Murray an also-ran in fantasy. He should reverse his fortunes this week with a positive game script in a home matchup against the Bengals.

The Bengals have been the second-worst team against opposing backs over the past five weeks. After letting a late lead slip away in pathetic fashion to the Steelers two weeks ago, the team looks defeated and offers little in the way of resistance.

Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen combined for 247 yards last week in a surprising Chicago Bears blowout, and it would not be a shock to see Murray and Jerick McKinnon to put on a similar show this week.

The Vikings are 11-point favorites in a game expected to see only 42 points. That screams domination and a second half of milking the clock with the run. At only $6,200, Murray is in excellent position to take advantage of such a situation and provide a big return on value.
