Start Christian McCaffrey

Cam Newton attempted 22 passes after Kelvin Benjamin exited Sunday with an injured knee. Christian McCaffrey received nine of those targets (a 40.9% share), hauling in 7 for 90 yards.

Benjamin was listed as a full participant in practice Thursday, a positive sign for his availability against the New England Patriots. That likely means another body for targets to be allocated towards, inevitably shrinking McCaffrey's upside.

At least that's the thought process you're hoping your opponent uses if they own McCaffrey. Benjamin's status at kickoff shouldn't deter from the fact the New England Patriots has permitted 11 yards per attempt through the air to opposing running backs.

Opposing quarterbacks have averaged 330.6 yards and a weekly top-six finish at the position against New England so far. However, it will take a low heart rate and blind faith to take a chance on Newton, who's finished as a top-10 quarterback just once in his last 10 performances.

Rather trust that McCaffrey's 67.5% snap rate and 28.04% target share from Newton are enough opportunity in a superb matchup to propel him into Week 4's top performances.
