Case Keenum, Minnesota Vikings

Well, not many people saw that coming. Filling in for Sam Bradford, Case Keenum blowtorched Tampa Bay in Week 3, throwing for 369 yards and 3 scores on his way to a 28.56-fantasy-point day. He nearly scored as many points last week as Cam Newton (33.24) has this season.

I'm not going to pretend like Keenum's big day was anything other than a surprise, but he had some positives going for him. Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen are developing into big-time weapons, and Keenum was at home against a banged-up secondary.

He has another solid matchup this week as the Vikings host the Lions. Detroit's defense has taken advantage of a fairly soft schedule to start the season, but the Lions' pass defense was one of the league's worst a year ago, checking in 31st against the pass, per our metrics.

The development of Diggs and Thielen has been huge, but another pivotal reason for Minnesota's offensive improvement this season is the play of their offensive line, a unit that held the team back in 2016.

Keenum probably isn't going to go nuts again this week, but with everything in place around him in terms of blocking and receivers -- and we haven't even talked about stud rookie back Dalvin Cook -- he should be able to produce solid numbers in a good matchup.

If Bradford ends up playing, which doesn't seem super likely at this point, he'd also make for a great streaming option. Bradford is owned in 24% of Yahoo! leagues.
