Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons

Overall ADP: 54th
nF Draft Kit Ranking: 27th

Remember “28-3?" You know Matt Ryan does.

The Atlanta Falcons' epic Super Bowl collapse appears to be hurting Ryan's fantasy reputation heading into this season. Sure, the loss of offensive mastermind Kyle Shanahan won’t help him, but new coordinator Steve Sarkisian is cut from a similar cloth as Shanny. Sark likes to run up-tempo offenses, shift personnel around, and spread the ball to different players without zeroing in on any particular player.

Sound familiar?

Really, there’s no tangible reason the Falcons’ passing attack -- and Ryan’s fantasy production -- can’t be as close to as potent this year as it was in 2016, when they were historically great. The questions about how the offense will shift are surely driving Ryan’s price point down, but he still has one of the deepest and best pass-catching corps in the league this year. He’s a steal in the late fifth round as our models project him as an early third-round pick.
