Target Market Shares

1. John Brown Is Back (For Real This Time!)

Last week, we discussed why John Brown's 11 targets were a bit deceiving due to his low snap rate. In Week 4, he finally got on the field consistently, and it paid huge dividends.

All in all, Brown turned 16 targets into 10 catches for 144 yards against the Los Angeles Rams. Despite getting limited run the first two weeks, Brown already has a 20.3% market share in the offense, trailing only Larry Fitzgerald at 24.0%. This time, John Brown is back for real.

While that's great for Brown, it's also a major ding to Michael Floyd's value. He saw 7 targets in Week 4, but more importantly, he was out-snapped by Jaron Brown with just a 45.5% snap rate. Even though Floyd salvaged a decent fantasy day by finding the end zone, he's essentially unusable until his snap rate bounces back above 75%.

2. The San Diego Chargers' Offense Is a Mess

Just when you think you've got the San Diego Chargers' passing attack all figured out, Dontrelle Inman unleashes a whoopin' on those assumptions.

Inman led the team with 11 targets Sunday after entering the game with 10 total targets on the season. Tyrell Williams was second on the team with 8 targets, but his production lagged with 5 receptions for 40 yards. It was even concerning for Travis Benjamin, who played 77.1% of the snaps, a season-high for him, but it was still far fewer than Inman and Williams. There be a whole lotta ambiguity up in here.

We're now three weeks separated from Keenan Allen's season-ending injury, and we still have little clarity in this offense. Williams leads the team in targets over those three games, but even his target market share since is sitting at 21.9%. There is no safe asset in this passing game, and even in great matchups, they'll be hard to trust in season-long leagues and cash games for DFS.

3. Emmanuel Sanders Is the Denver Broncos' No. 1 Receiver

If you've been paying attention to the first four weeks of the NFL season, calling Emmanuel Sanders the Broncos' No. 1 receiver won't shock you. It's just still a concept that we may have a hard time accepting.

Sanders has now led the Broncos in targets every single week this season, and he has nearly doubled the competition the past two weeks with 26 total targets. Even though Demaryius Thomas' market share is respectable at 21.8%, Sanders blows him out of the water at 33.9%, the second-highest mark in the league.

The Broncos may not throw the ball often given what they have at quarterback, but when they do, it's probably going Sanders' way. They've got another great matchup on tap in Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons, and regardless of whether it's Trevor Siemian or Paxton Lynch under center, you should be giving Sanders a long look in DFS.
