5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Tuesday 1/24/23

If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at some players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup on FanDuel tonight, using numberFire's daily fantasy basketball projections as a guide.

Cameron Johnson, SF/PF, Phoenix Suns
Bismack Biyombo, Phoenix Suns

Johnson's FanDuel Salary: $5,200
Biyombo's FanDuel Salary: $4,600

The Phoenix Suns are very thinned out tonight and will be without both Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton, two high-usage players.

In 72.5 minutes without Booker and Ayton on the floor, Cameron Johnson has a 21.2% usage rate, via CourtIQ. He's projected to play 30.1 minutes and generate 29.2 FanDuel points.

In three games with at least 30 minutes this season, Johnson has averaged 14.3 shots and 19.0 points for 32.6 FanDuel points per game. The opportunity is just too good to ignore here.

As for Bismack Biyombo, he's getting projected for 25.0 minutes and 25.4 FanDuel points. He will slot into the starting lineup with Ayton out.

In eight starts, Biyombo has averaged 21.3 FanDuel points per game with 0.94 fantasy points per minute. In two starts against bottom-10 defenses, he has popped off for 1.27 FanDuel points per minute.

Bennedict Mathurin, SG/SF, Indiana Pacers

FanDuel Salary: $5,300

The Indiana Pacers' usage rate flows through Bennedict Mathurin when Tyrese Haliburton is out.

He has a 28.8% usage rate with Haliburton sidelined, and he turns that into 0.91 FanDuel points per minute.

Mathurin and the Pacers are in the game of the night by over/under (234.5), and the spread against the Chicago Bulls is close (Bulls -2.0).

Mathurin is projected for 29.9 minutes and 27.4 FanDuel points, good for a value rating of 5.17.

Dwight Powell, C/PF, Dallas Mavericks

FanDuel Salary: $3,900

The Dallas Mavericks are thin in the frontcourt and will be without Christian Wood. For that reason, Dwight Powell is projected for 27.7 minutes and 22.2 FanDuel points against the Washington Wizards.

In six games without Wood (with Powell active, too), Powell has six starts and 23.7 minutes per game.

Powell is not a high-usage option, but the sub-$4,000 salary opens up access to get teammate Luka Doncic in a game-stacking scenario.

Tim Hardaway Jr. ($5,500) also could've been a value pick here. He's a top-four value projection in numberFire's model.

Deni Avdija, SF/PF, Washington Wizards

FanDuel Salary: $5,000

In that same game, we can look at Deni Avdija for a big ol' value stack between the Mavericks and Wizards.

The Wizards are without Kristaps Porzingis, and with Porzingis off the floor, Avdija sees a 16.4% usage rate with an average of 0.88 FanDuel points per minute. That'll be useful across his 32.1 projected minutes.

In games with at least 30 minutes, Avdija has averaged 33.3 FanDuel points and maintained a per-minute rate of 0.93.
