3 NBA Player Prop Bets to Target on Wednesday 11/20/19

Can James Harden make it rain against the Nuggets? What prop bets are worth wagering on tonight?

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways, from taking advantage of them straight up (to the tune of cold hard cash), to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball.

While you can use those odds in fantasy, you can also utilize our fantasy projections and a variety of other tools to help make money on betting everyday player props.

For the purposes of this article, we are using the odds provided at FanDuel Sportsbook to pinpoint three spots where value can be had on a player's stat line, scoring, or even shot type.

Please note that betting lines and our game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.

Fred VanVleet, Over 18.5 Points

Fred VanVleet has been filling in well for the Toronto Raptors over the last five games. He's averaged 20.4 points and 8.0 assists per game in those five contests. Tonight his over/unders are set at 18.5 for points, 7.5 for assists, and 26.5 for combined points and assists against Orlando. The Raptors have averaged 109.8 points in their last five games, with Monday's game being their first home contest in five games. Back at home tonight, VanFleet and Pascal Siakam should score points and keep Toronto's perfect home record intact.

Our model projects VanVleet at 21.7 points and 6.2 assists, hitting the over on points but the under on assists. That total would also push the Raptors point guard over in combined points and assists, something he's done in three of his last five games.

Ben Simmons, Over 14.5 Points

Ben Simmons has only played in three home games this season, and the 76ers have won all three. Simmons is averaging 18.3 points, 7.3 assists, and 5.3 assists at home -- making his over in points against the Knicks very appealing. Before his 10-point game against the Cavs, Simmons had three straight games of 15 or more points. He's only averaging nine shots attempted in November, compared to 12.6 attempts at home on the season. Expect the home crowd to get behind Simmons and give him the confidence to shoot the ball 10 or more times tonight.

Our model projects Simmons to have a near triple-double of 19.3 points, 9.0 assists, and 9.0 rebounds against New York.

James Harden, Over 4.5 Made Threes

James Harden has scored 36 or more points in 11 of his last 12 games. He scored 36 against the Blazers Monday and would have topped 40 if it wasn't a blowout victory for the Rockets. Harden is averaging 15.3 three-point attempts and 14.4 free-throw attempts on the road, and they travel to Denver tonight to take on the Nuggets. Harden is averaging 25.2 points off three-pointers and free-throws alone. The Nuggets themselves are 26th in three-pointers, so if Harden pours it on, the Nuggets may struggle to keep up. Harden's over/under in points is 36.5, and it could be feasible against the lowest-scoring team in the league.

Harden has made over four three-pointers in seven of his last eight games and has attempted 15.1 in those contests. In seven road games, he's hitting an average of 5.4 threes a game. Harden is projected to score 32.3 points tonight to go with 4.3 made threes.
