5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 11/5/19
One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.
Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup
Goga Bitadze, C, Indiana Pacers ($5,300)
The Indiana Pacers are dealing with a few different injuries, which will open up some cheaper options.
The Pacers have Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis both listed as questionable for tonight's game, leaving a potential opening at center. Both of those players missed their most recent game, which saw Goga Bitadze draw the start, where he posted 29.3 FanDuel points in just 18 minutes. If both of those players are ruled out again tonight, you can confidently load Bitadze into your cash-game lineups.
He is facing off against the Charlotte Hornets, who are the worst team in the league versus centers. They are allowing 67.7 FanDuel points per game to the position, making this the absolute ideal matchup to attack.
You are getting starter minutes -- potentially -- from a player in a fantastic matchup who has proven to be very effective when on the court in recent games.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, SG, Los Angeles Lakers ($3,800)
A higher over/under of the slate comes from the game between Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls, so let's find some value here.
With Avery Bradley being listed as questionable for this game, we should see some rotational minutes opened up, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope should be a player to step up. He likely won't be in the starting lineup -- as he hasn't started at any point this season -- but the extra minutes should be there tonight. He has played 18 minutes or more in four straight games, hasn't been over 30 minutes in any of those games, and has 16 FanDuel points or more in three of those four.
KCP is producing very modest numbers for the limited role he has in the Lakers' offense. We know that plenty of the offensive usage will always go toward LeBron James and Anthony Davis -- which is why KCP is under one fantasy point per minute -- but against a weak Bulls defense and likely seeing extra minutes, KCP could be in line for his best game of the season.
Daniel Theis, PF, Boston Celtics ($4,200)
Daniel Theis is set to start again tonight, making him a great option against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Theis is our top-projected value play on the entire slate. The Boston Celtics have Enes Kanter listed as doubtful for this game, which means Theis and Robert Williams should be starting at power forward and center. The matchup is a great one since the Cavaliers are allowing 46.3 FanDuel points per game to opposing power forwards, 10th most in the league.
We have Theis projected for 26 minutes tonight and have him posting 26 FanDuel points. Getting one fantasy point per minute from a player just over $4,000 can be tough to find, but with Theis grabbing a consistent role in the offense, he will likely be a very popular value play tonight.
Jabari Parker, PF, Atlanta Hawks ($4,800)
It was announced this morning that Atlanta Hawks power forward John Collins has been suspended, opening up a spot in their rotation.
Collins is/was the starting power forward for the Hawks, which means things will be changing for them over the next few weeks. One player to benefit from this situation could be Jabari Parker, who could find his way into the starting five. That wouldn't be a surprise, as Parker has already played 22 minutes or more in four of their five games this season. This leads to Parker being our second-best value play, per our projections, behind the above mentioned Theis.
Parker is projected to play 31 minutes while posting 29.8 FanDuel points. If he is confirmed in the starting lineup, he will be one of the most popular players in any format.
Rudy Gay, SF, San Antonio Spurs ($4,900)
With an over/under of 220 points, this Spurs-Hawks matchup is one of the best fantasy games on the slate.
So far this season, DeMar DeRozan has scored more than 40 FanDuel points only one time in six games, while LaMarcus Aldridge is over 40 just twice. The Spurs don't seem to have one dominant scorer and are spreading the offense around a bit. One of the players picking up the extra production is Rudy Gay, who has produced at or above one fantasy point per minute in five of his six games this season. He comes in ar $4,900 and has fewer than 20 FanDuel points in only one of six games this season.
That trend should continue tonight versus the Hawks, who are allowing 40.9 FanDuel points per game to small forwards this season. Even though Gay isn't in the starting lineup for the Spurs, he has a strong role off the bench and is producing fantasy points in that role.
