3 NBA DraftKings Studs to Target on 1/2/19

Few players in the league have the ability to match Anthony Davis' output on any given night. One of the players who does, however, is Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, who's been on fire over the past week.

Embiid has put up a minimum of 23 points, 15 rebounds, and 60.5 DraftKings points over his past three games. He has double-doubles in all but four of the games he's played this year and is tied with Rudy Gobert with 31 such games this season.

Embiid is ninth in the league in scoring, third in rebounds, and sixth in blocks. He's averaging career-highs in all three categories. His 3.5 assists per game are also a career best. Tonigh, he'll look to best all of those numbers in a matchup against the Phoenix Suns, against whom he scored 62.25 DraftKings points when the two played earlier this year. The game may not have the highest total on the slate, but 228.5 points is still up there.

We have Embiid projected for 49.0 DraftKings points with an upside of 80-plus points if he can put it all together. Note: Embiid was experiencing knee soreness leading into yesterday's game but still played. There could be a chance he sits on a back-to-back -- especially against an inferior opponent -- so keep an eye out for his status throughout the day.
