3 MLB Prop Bets to Target on 6/5/18

After last night's dust-up, will Giancarlo Stanton continue his dominance of Toronto's Marco Estrada on Tuesday night?

Prop betting odds can be useful in daily fantasy sports to help gauge the potential performance of a player on any given night in the MLB. Likewise, the same principles can be applied in the opposite direction -- by using our fantasy projections and models to help make more informed prop bets.

Using the odds available at Bovada Sportsbook, here are three prop bets available tonight that are good plays based on our daily MLB game projections.

Please note that Vegas lines and our game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.

New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays

Giancarlo Stanton OVER 2.5 Runs, Hits, and RBI (+100)

The New York Yankees are going to be popular in DFS circles on Tuesday night as they head out on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays. With Marco Estrada on the mound for Toronto, Giancarlo Stanton is looking like a fine prop value with the Yankees' implied run total sitting at 5.43 in our Matchup Heat Map.

Stanton has mashed Estrada in the past to the tune of a 6-for-17 (.353) clip, including 4 home runs, 6 RBI, and 6 total extra base hits. Even though Stanton only has a .287 wOBA against right-handers this season, our models are projecting him for 2.98 runs, hits, and RBI.

Colorado Rockies at Cincinnati Reds

Nolan Arenado OVER 2.5 Runs, Hits, and RBI (+120)

Even though the Colorado Rockies are away from Coors Field Tuesday, the friendly confines of Great American Ballpark could be good enough for a big offensive night. Nolan Arenado has been red-hot over his first three games this month, and our models like that to continue on the road here.

Arenado has four runs scored and two RBI over his last three games, and he's going against Anthony DeSclafani tonight. DeSclafani hasn't pitched since 2016, so our models are projecting Arenado for a combined 2.97 runs, hits, and RBI in this ripe environment.

Atlanta Braves at San Diego Padres

Freddie Freeman OVER 2.5 Runs, Hits, and RBI (+130)

Freddie Freeman is becoming a regular on our daily prop picks, and once again our models are much more into him than Bovada Sportsbook is.

The Atlanta Braves are facing Jordan Lyles, who has been hit harder by right-handers this season. Lyles is allowing righties to post a 32.9% hard-hit rate and a 20.0% line drive rate in 2018, which is much better than his stats versus left-handers. After losing his hit streak during Monday's blowout, our models like Freeman to bounce back against Lyles with 3.04 combined runs, hits, and RBI.
