Cory Spangenberg, 2B, San Diego Padres

FanDuel Price: $2,600

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Brian Dozier has been on quite the hot streak for the Minnesota Twins as of late. He destroys lefties, and he's got a matchup today against Boston Red Sox southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez. Despite Rodriguez's good start to the season, it's still a great spot for Dozier as he posted a .965 OPS and .397 wOBA against left-handed pitching in 2016.

A sneaky play at the second base position is Cory Spangenberg of the San Diego Padres. Spangenberg missed nearly all of 2016 due to injury. Playing in a tough park for offense -- PetCo ranks 24th in park factor over the last three seasons -- Spangenberg is likely not to be at the top of the list for many DFS players.

Why You Should Use Him:

One reason to consider the cheap Spangenberg for your second base slot is his matchup against Los Angeles Dodgers righty Kenta Maeda. While Maeda has actually posted a strong 24.1% strikeout rate so far in 2017, he's been burned by the gopher ball. He's already given up 7 bombs in his first 26 innings pitched this season.

Maeda's problem has been left-handed hitters -- over 63 total batters faced, he's allowed a .402 wOBA and a .611 slugging percentage to opposite-handed bats.

Spangenberg has been a steady performer -- he's racked up six or more FanDuel fantasy points in four of his last five contests -- and he's got a plus matchup against Maeda at a low price point.
