Mike Foltyniewicz, SP, Atlanta Braves

FanDuel Price: $7,400

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Stephen Strasburg has started 2017 well and possesses a really nice matchup on Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phils strike out a whopping 23.4% of the time, and Strasburg is the heaviest favorite on the night at -165. Stras should see a lot of ownership.

One mid-priced option to consider is Atlanta Braves starter Mike Foltynewicz, who has posted a 4.11 SIERA so far this season. Winless so far and a bit choppy to open the campaign, Foltyniewicz shouldn't see a ton of ownership.

Why You Should Use Him:

Folty, whose name more closely resembles alphabet soup, garnered a lot of hype in the offseason thanks to a 10.0% swinging strike rate in 2016, but he struggled in the beginning of the year. His first two starts (he did make a relief appearance early) lasted 10 2/3 innings pitched, and Folty racked up only 4 strikeouts, good for a strikeout rate of 8.2%.

Since then, Folty has really turned things around. In his last two outings, which span 13 innings pitched, he's whiffed 15 batters, good for a 30.0% strikeout rate.

His opponent tonight, the St. Louis Cardinals, have been pretty average in terms of wOBA at .321, and they may be missing two key cogs who left yesterday's game early in table-setters Dexter Fowler and Stephen Piscotty, the sticks occupying the top two spots in the Cards' lineup.

With all these factors considered, Foltyniewicz makes for a strong play on the slate at a pretty reasonable price point.
