3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamer Options for Week 10
Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing potentially productive quarterbacks in good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.
Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Patrick Mahomes as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal-callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.
If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks rostered in fewer than roughly 40% of Yahoo leagues who are in good spots this week.
Jared Goff, Lions
Yahoo Roster Percentage: 49%
I'll open with this: if you're in one of the 30% of Yahoo leagues in which Justin Fields is available, pick him up and start him in a dream date with the Detroit Lions. He could be the week's overall QB1.
But assuming Fields isn't on your waiver wire, you can turn to the guy on the opposite side of that game -- Jared Goff.
Goff's roster percentage has fallen as his red-hot start to the year has tapered off. He can get back to his high-scoring ways this week.
Goff is taking on the Chicago Bears in what should be one of the week's best fantasy environments -- as weird as that would've been to say prior to the season. The game has a 48.5-point total and 3.0-point spread. Neither defense is any good, and both offenses have shown appealing upside.
We have Goff projected for 16.54 fantasy points and slot him as the QB8.
Daniel Jones, Giants
Yahoo Roster Percentage: 41%
Daniel Jones is in a nice spot this week. Jones is at home versus the Houston Texans, and Houston owns the league's third-worst D, per our metrics. Big Blue has a solid 23.0-point implied total.
Jones has run for at least 20 yards in all but one game, and he's put together games of 107, 79 and 68 rushing yards. That boosts his floor and his ceiling, and he should turn in a quality outing against Houston.
Our model has Jones producing 16.23 fantasy points and ranks him as the week's QB10.
Jimmy Garoppolo
Yahoo Roster Percentage: 40%
Jimmy Garoppolo is at home this week versus the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chargers are just a middle-of-the-road defense, according to our numbers, and Jimmy G can come through in this spot.
Usually a low-ceiling option, Garoppolo's outlook is a little rosier than usual thanks to all the weapons the San Francisco 49ers have put around him. Surrounded by Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey, Jimmy G's fantasy prospects are as promising as they've ever been.
