3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Options for Week 11

Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing potentially productive quarterbacks in good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.

Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Russell Wilson as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal-callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.

If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks rostered in fewer than roughly 40% of Yahoo leagues who are in good spots this week.

Jameis Winston, Saints

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 3%

[Editor's note: The New Orleans Saints named Taysom Hill their starting quarterback for the week.]

Ideally, we'd have more time to try to get a read on what the New Orleans Saints are going to do at quarterback before spending a waiver add -- and/or FAB money -- on Jameis Winston because we know Sean Payton loves him some Taysom Hill. But I'm operating under the assumption that Winston will see the majority of snaps under center in New Orleans' dreamy Week 11 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.

Atlanta is surrendering the most FanDuel points per game to quarterbacks (26.0), and while Winston didn't look so hot in relief duty in Week 10, dude was a fantasy stud last year, finishing as the overall QB5. With Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas at his disposal, Winston should be able to have a good fantasy day this week.

We rank Winston as our QB12, projecting him for 17.87 fantasy points. If we get word that Hill is going to be the Saints' main signal caller sans Drew Brees, Hill is also a fine streamer who offers rushing upside. In ESPN leagues, Hill is eligible at tight end, making him a must-have off the waiver wire this week.

I do want to quickly mention Cam Newton, who is rostered in only 63% of Yahoo leagues. If he's on the wire in your league, go get him as he has a sweet Week 11 matchup with the Houston Texans. We have Newton as our QB7 for the week.

Alex Smith, Washington

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 5%

While Alex Smith isn't going to chuck it 55 times again like he did in Week 10, he's still a solid streaming play this week thanks to a cushy matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincy has given up the seventh-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks (20.2), and Smith has shown in his limited time this year that he's capable of having a serviceable fantasy day in this spot.

If you look past the Bengals' 31-20 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 8, a game in which wind was a factor, opposing teams have scored 36, 37, 31 and 27 points against Cincinnati in their last four games.

We project Smith for 16.50 fantasy points, and he slots in as our QB18.

Baker Mayfield, Browns

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 33%

Let's get this out of the way -- the Cleveland Browns want to run the ball, and they're very good at doing so. Both Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb ate last week, with each going for more than 100 rushing yards. That resulted in Baker Mayfield throwing only 20 passes and scoring a mere 5.38 fantasy points.

But the wind was brutal in Cleveland last week, making it hard for Mayfield and Deshaun Watson (163 passing yards), and Mayfield has a decent enough matchup this week versus a Philadelphia Eagles defense our schedule-adjusted metrics rate as roughly a league-average unit.

Mayfield is tough to stomach in one-quarterback leagues, but he's a fine start this week in two-quarterback formats. Our model projects him for 14.98 points and ranks him as the QB23.
