Shane Vereen isn't a safe bet this week (or any week, for that matter), and I wouldn't advise playing him in cash games, but he can offer a lot of value in tournaments here.

Despite the Giants' reluctance to go to Vereen, he has been very efficient this season. Among the 28 backs to see at least 20 targets, his 0.47 Reception NEP per target ranks 9th, while his 0.01 Rushing NEP per carry ranks 24th among the 60 backs with at least 25 carries. He leads the Giants backfield in Reception NEP and is second to Orleans Darkwa in Rushing NEP.

Vereen also draws a fairly good matchup against the New Orleans Saints this week. Vegas projects the Giants for 22.75 points, the second-most among underdogs, and the game has an over/under of 49, the third highest this week. The Saints have struggled against the pass, ranking 26th with a 0.22 Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play, and have only been in the middle of the pack against the run, with a 0.00 Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per play that ranks 15th.
