Corey Liuget, Defensive End

It’s a tough week for the defensive line. With some of our favorite streaming options on bye (like Mike Daniels), injured (Justin Tuck), or finally owned above 15% (Clinton McDonald), we’re looking at some higher-risk options in Week 7. Corey Liuget hasn’t been one of our more dependable DL-eligible players in 2015, as he seems to boom in even-numbered weeks and bust in odd ones. Still, he does have four of his six games so far with at least 5.0 standard scoring fantasy points, which isn’t bad from a waiver wire pickup. 3-4 defensive ends have lower ceilings than their 4-3 brethren, but in the right matchup they can be solid.

Liuget gets a tougher matchup this week against a surprisingly error-averse Oakland Raiders, but he’s one of our better lower-owned options right now, so we have to just ride with him. The Oakland Raiders are putting up a strong 4.5% sack percentage allowed (11th-lowest in the NFL) and an incredible 5.4% stuffed percentage (second-lowest). That said, Liuget should get enough tackle opportunities on Latavius Murray to sustain value this week.

Liuget is available in 91.9% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for around 3.5 tackles and a total score of 3.83 balanced fantasy points in Week 7.
