There must be something in the water in Door County, Wisconsin. The Green Bay Packers’ defense legitimately hasn’t looked this good since the team’s run to a Super Bowl XLV title. Most of that is due to a renaissance in the defensive backfield, but the job has been made much easier by consistent pressure up front, thanks to guys like Mike Daniels. Daniels, one of the team’s most steady defensive ends, has been a nightmare for opposing offensive lines to corral so far this year; he has 18 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, a stuff, and a forced fumble through five games.

In Week 6, Daniels and the Packers host the San Diego Chargers at Lambeau Field, and this is a team that has had issues running the ball so far this year. Lead back Melvin Gordon so far has just a 3.8 yard-per-carry average, as well as two lost fumbles. This has led the Chargers to rely heavily on the passing game (they rank 10th in pass-to-run ratio), which reduces the number of tackles presented to the front seven, and they rank just 17th in stuff percentage allowed. The Bolts are 10th in sack percentage allowed, however, which could lead to some big plays.

Daniels is available in 93.9% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for around 3.5 tackles, a chance for a sack, and a total score of 4.43 balanced fantasy points in Week 6.
