Le'Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

There is good news and bad news about Le'Veon Bell. The good news is that he catches passes, the offense around him in Pittsburgh is finally humming, and he has averaged the fifth-most standard fantasy points among running backs so far this season. Pretty good news, right?

The bad news is that he hasn't scored a rushing touchdown since Week 1, has rushed for an acceptable, but not-great 3.29 yards per carry over the last two weeks (including Indianapolis, currently 22nd in the league in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP), and he now faces a New York Jets defense that is currently a solid 17th in the league in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP. The Jets have proven a spotty matchup this season for running backs, holding Oakland, Green Bay, Chicago, Detroit, Denver and Buffalo's run games to fewer than 15 standard fantasy points, but letting San Diego, New England, and Kansas City romp all over them.

The key to understanding success against this Jets' defense hasn't so much been rushing prowess as it has been receiving value. The game against New England is the best example of this, as their runners put up just 55 yards on 14 attempts against "Gang Green", but still unloaded 24 fantasy points from this matchup. Bell may be able to salvage some value in the passing game here, but with the Jets currently 26th in the league in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP and Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger playing unbelievably well right now, I believe the Steelers will air it out to the receivers early and often to win this week.

Clearly you won't be able to afford to bench Bell this week, but temper expectations.
