Isaiah Crowell exited Week 14's game against the Bills with a foot injury, leaving the lead back duties to Elijah McGuire, who compiled a season-high 20 touches (17 carries, 3 receptions) for 83 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown.

Should Crowell remain out this week, McGuire figures to see another hefty workload against the Houston Texans, and finding 20 touches on the waiver wire at this time of year isn't anything to scoff at. Despite seeing a limited role prior to Sunday, he's also seen a reasonable role in the passing game this season, averaging four targets over his five games.

That said, resting your fantasy playoff hopes on anyone in the Jets' offense probably isn't going to help you sleep at night, and it doesn't help that the Texans came into Week 14 as numberFire' second-best defense against the run. Houston is already a 6.5-point road favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook, so McGuire is also less likely to enjoy a positive game script.

He's a risky play for sure, but volume is volume, and given the number of late season injuries at running back McGuire could very well be the reinforcement you need.
