Running backs are a fickle creature. Injuries can derail their fantasy season, ineffectiveness or cold streaks can be common, but even worse is when they just outright lose their jobs. That last one is what has happened to Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines, with incumbent starter Marlon Mack finally returning from injury in Week 7.

Mack, in just his second game back, played 37 of the Colts’ 66 offensive snaps (56.1%) and generated 126 yards rushing. Hines’ 17 snaps gave him just 5 carries for 47 yards and were nearly on par with third-stringer Jordan Wilkins's playing chances.

There’s really no chance that Hines will unseat Mack at the current moment, so fantasy owners will have to settle for a Darren Sproles Lite role as the primary receiving backup in Indy if this is to be the norm in Indy. If someone like Nick Chubb is on your waiver wire still, though, Hines is an easy drop.
