Week 3 was a fun time to watch Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams, who -- according to all viewers -- broke out with 81 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns on 4 catches (7 targets). For those of you keeping score at home, that’s 20.3 yards per reception and 24.1 PPR points.

But he hasn’t done anything nearly as impactful since that game.

In the four weeks since, Williams has put up just 119 yards and 1 touchdown on 6 catches. That’s a weekly average of just under 6.0 fantasy points. The big reason why is that he’s averaging only 3.5 targets per game over the last month, and -- per PlayerProfiler.com -- he’s being targeted on just 10.8 percent of his snaps on the field -- the 82nd-highest among around 96 starting wide receivers in the NFL.

Williams can certainly put up big plays with the ball in his hands -- his one catch this week went for 55 yards -- but Keenan Allen, Tyrell Williams, and even Melvin Gordon are all ahead of him in line for targets. He won’t do you any good if he’s not seeing work, and that shouldn’t change any time soon.
