Joe Flacco is a top-12 quarterback this week, based on numberFire's projections. That statement might be a shock to some, but that should not be all that surprising given that he is facing the 29th rated pass defense in the New Orleans Saints. We typically want to target the Saints when they are in the Mercedes-Benz dome, but this should be a good scoring environment for both sides.

As it stands, the Ravens/Saints matchup has the second-highest total of the main slate, currently sitting at 50.0 points. The Baltimore Ravens are tied for third on the slate with their 26.25 implied total, and they are at home and projected to win by 2.5 points. All three factors check the boxes for Flacco.

The Saints are allowing an astronomical number of passes to be completed against them, as only Alex Smith failed to hit the 73% completion mark. These are also not low average depth of target (aDOT) passes, either. They are allowing high catch rates at deep depths of the field. For reference, Joe Flacco has an 8.7 aDOT this season.

The Saints are looking to be a run funnel this season, sporting the eighth-best rushing defense. This plays to Flacco's advantage, as he is second in the league in pass attempts and the Ravens have been pass-happy in neutral game script situations, ranking third in the league in them. Flacco should be operating from a clean pocket throughout the game as well, and the Saints lack a formidable pass rush 22nd in Football Outsiders' adjusted sack rate.
