Mike Davis, RB, Seattle Seahawks

Week 4 Salary: $4,500

Week 5 Salary: $5,500

When Chris Carson was a late scratch for the Seattle Seahawks last week, it's fair to assume that many people believed rookie Rashaad Penny would be toting the rock. Nope.

Mike Davis got the nod, and boy did he deliver. Davis ran for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns on 21 carries and added 4 catches for 23 yards. His resulting 26.4 FanDuel points ranked sixth at the running back position last week, and his value of 5.87 points per $1,000 easily ranked first.

He enters this week with a deserving $1,000 bump in his salary, though it is yet to be seen if he'll start again. Carson got in a limited practice on Thursday, so there is a chance he could be back. With Davis' solid performance fresh in Pete Carroll's mind, however, it would make a lot of sense to give Davis another start and let Carson get one more week off to fully recover.

The matchup won't be easy, however. The Los Angeles Rams gave up just 26 rushing yards to the Minnesota Vikings last week, and their 17.18 FanDuel points against makes them the 10th-best fantasy defense against running backs.

Given the uncertainty of the situation, the late start, the tough matchup, and many other solid options at a similar price this week, it's probably wise to avoid Davis and the Hawks' ground game this week.
