Running Back

Chalk

At the top end of the running back market this week, LeSean McCoy should prove to be popular against an Indianapolis Colts defense that has given up the 5th-most FanDuel points to opposing backs and ranks 23rd against the run by our metrics. Le'Veon Bell should also be a hot pick for those playing a slate that includes the Sunday night game. While the Baltimore Ravens seem imposing by name, they've allowed three touchdowns to opposing rushers in the past two games, along with 186 total yards and 2 scores to Bell in Week 4.

At the mid-tier level, Lamar Miller has a ton of potential against a San Francisco 49ers defense that has given up the second-most points per game to the position. Cheap plays will depend on injuries. It looks like Ameer Abdullah and Doug Martin will play, which will limit exposure to Theo Riddick and Peyton Barber, respectively. Joe Mixon, however, is unlikely to recover from a concussion, which would mean that Giovani Bernard could see at least 20-25 touches this week at a salary of only $5,100.

Pivots

Alfred Morris, $6,800 (at New York Giants)

Though the Dallas Cowboys' quarterback play has dropped off in the weeks since Ezekiel Elliott's suspension began, the running game is still in strong hands with Alfred Morris. He's fifth in the league in rushing yards the past three weeks, and his efficiency has been lit.

The Cowboys finally realize what they had in Morris last week, giving him the rock 27 times. He should have another huge workload against a New York Giants defense that ranks 26th against the running back position over the past five weeks while giving up the second-most rushing yards (608) during that time frame. We have Morris pegged to return the fifth-best value of any back on the main slate.
