Jordan Matthews, WR, Buffalo Bills

Yahoo Ownership: 35%

Jordan Matthews' first season with the Buffalo Bills must have come with some type of curse. Seriously. Acquired to replace Sammy Watkins, whom the Bills had traded merely hours before, Matthews immediately set forth and fractured his sternum, ruining any chance to develop preseason chemistry with quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

Matthews rushed back to be ready for Week 1, but without much familiarity with Taylor, he failed to garner more than five targets in a single game in the first four weeks. And in Week 4, Matthews suffered a thumb injury that kept him out the following week.

But even since the Bills' Week 6 bye, Matthews has still failed to garner more than four targets in a game, which is notable because the Bills were without the services of Taylor's go-to weapon in tight end Charles Clay for both contests. Put simply, even in an offense when you're the presumed number-one receiver, that's not enough volume to be fantasy relevant.

With running back LeSean McCoy and rookie receiver Zay Jones each receiving 14 total targets over those two games, it's clear that Matthews' road to relevancy is narrow. Drop him for JuJu Smith-Schuster if JuJu is still available on your league's waiver wire.
