Cam Newton Is Healthy Again

Going into Week 4, Cam Newton just didn't look healthy. He was recovering from offseason surgery to his throwing arm, and at that point, it seemed apparent that he wasn't ready to play. The signal caller averaged just 6.76 yards per completed pass and was barely rushing compared to his historical tendencies.

Then Weeks 4 and 5 happened, in which Newton threw for over 300 yards twice and rushed a total of 15 times. His average yards per completion jumped up to over 10.0 as he threw for six touchdowns during this time.

However, Newton struggled in Week 6 against the Eagles, completing a paltry 53.8 percent of his passes -- his lowest mark this year -- while throwing three interceptions.

This would normally be bad news for a fantasy quarterback, but Newton is among a select few who can buoy his fantasy numbers with rushing production. While he didn't do much with his passing production in Week 6, Newton added 71 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 rushing attempts.

Those 11 rushes marked a season high and showed that going forward, even when Newton struggles in the passing game, he can get it done on the ground again. This should lead to some great games in the coming weeks, as the Panthers draw favorable matchups against the Bears, the Buccaneers and the Dolphins.
