Running Back

Melvin Gordon, Los Angeles Chargers

Week 5 Salary: $7,100

Week 6 Salary: $8,400

No back saw a bigger spike in price than Melvin Gordon, who jumped up $1,300 following a 31.3-FanDuel-point outburst. As examined in our Week 6 Game Scripts to Target piece, Gordon's role makes him an excellent target regardless of whether Derek Carr suits up.

His involvement in the pass game (six-plus targets in three of five games and three receiving touchdowns) and goal-line work (third in red zone rushing market share) make him one of the most dangerous backs in fantasy when he's in the right spot. A matchup against an Oakland Raiders squad ranked in the bottom-five in total yards allowed to running backs this season would appear to be such a spot.

Mark Ingram, New Orleans Saints

Week 5 Salary: $6,000

Week 6 Salary: $5,900

While Mark Ingram didn't see a drastic change in price, his salary movement from Week 5 to Week 6 didn't make a whole lot of sense. Alvin Kamara saw his price increase by $500 following a big Week 5, but Ingram saw his price drop despite out-snapping Kamara 46 to 26 and seeing a season-high in both carries (14) and targets (8).

With Adrian Peterson shipped out to the Arizona Cardinals after the pricing was already set, Ingram's $5,900 salary really stands out. He is a strong play in all formats.
