The Giants' -0.26 Rushing NEP per Carry Ranks Last in the League

The New York Giants have rushed for 146 yards this season.

Total.

Kareem Hunt has already topped that himself in two separate games, and his average of 15.7 carries per game is actually the same as the Giants. No other team is averaging fewer than 20 carries per game.

At that rate, New York is on pace for 251.2 carries this season, which would be the lowest number of rushing attempts by any team since 1982.

Their backfield has been led by Paul Perkins, who has averaged 7.67 carries over the first three games. Orleans Darkwa is second with 13 total rushing attempts, but neither of them has shown they deserve more carries. In fact, among the 64 running backs with 10-plus carries, Perkins (-0.29) and Darkwa (-0.35) rank 60th and 61st, respectively, in Rushing NEP per carry.

Shane Vereen has been the Giants' most efficient running back (-0.14 Rushing NEP per carry), but he has only carried the ball seven times.

With none of their running backs getting a significant workload and all of them struggling to produce, the Giants' rushing attack will be one to avoid in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are giving up the fourth-fewest rushing yards per game (72.5) this season.
