Wide Receiver

Chalk:

Top options Julio Jones and Antonio Brown both find themselves in good spots and should be popular options, although it is fair to wonder how many will feel the need to pay all the way up with such strong top plays available at the running back position. As a result, some of the mid-priced options like Amari Cooper, A.J. Green, and Kelvin Benjamin could wind up heavily owned. If looking for a punt play, Rashard Higgins and Devin Funchess are sure to be on the minds of most daily fantasy players this week.

Pivots:

Terrelle Pryor, $6,900 (vs. Oakland Raiders): Perhaps the most highly-anticipated breakout pick for this season, Terrelle Pryor has been a major disappointment through two weeks. Hopefully that is enough to keep his ownership down this week, because he could be an awesome high-upside pivot off of the aforementioned mid-priced plays.

Pryor's targets were down from 11 in Week 1 to just 4 last week, which is certainly concerning. Cousins' attempts were down considerably too, though, as he threw just 27 passes, as opposed to 40 in Week 1. Their three-headed backfield combined for 222 rushing yards, so Washington simply went with a more conservative game plan. Pryor's snap count was nearly identical to Week 1, playing one less snap, so volume shouldn't be an issue going forward.

The Washington Redskins will likely be forced to be more aggressive through the air as they attempt to keep up with a high-powered Oakland Raiders offense. While Oakland has been dominant on offense thus far, they have sprung some leaks against receivers, watching Rishard Matthews and Corey Davis combine for 140 yards in Week 1 and then allowing a two-score day to Jermaine Kearse last week. If this game is anywhere near as high-scoring as Vegas expects it to be, Washington is going to have to put up some points, and Pryor is their most talented offensive weapon. Target him liberally in tournaments.

DeSean Jackson, $6,400 (at Minnesota Vikings): DeSean Jackson, whose Bucs take on a tough Minnesota Vikings defense, is considerably cheaper on DraftKings, which could keep his ownership low on FanDuel as DFSers get their share of him on the other site. Thanks to Xavier Rhodes, this Minnesota defense has been able to hold Michael Thomas and Antonio Brown to just 107 yards. So why should we expect Jackson to fare any better?

Well, the fact that Jackson isn't nearly as intimidating of a threat as Thomas or Brown actually should play into his favor, because Rhodes will likely spend the majority of his time lined up opposite Mike Evans, leaving Trae Waynes to cover Jackson. While Waynes is a former first-round selection with impressive speed, he isn't great at covering wide receivers -- which is, unfortunately for him, his job.

In Week 1, Waynes gave up nine catches on 10 targets, highlighted by a 52-yard reception by Tommylee Lewis. He got a chance for redemption against another speedster last week, but the result was 91 yards and a touchdown for Martavis Bryant on just 4 targets. The two instances in which Waynes was targeted deep against Bryant resulted in a 51-yard catch and a 49-yard penalty.

Maybe after years of the same issues, he figured it out in a few days worth of practice this week -- but probably not. If Tampa Bay's offensive line can give Winston the time to take a few deep shots, don't be surprised if Jackson comes down with them. He is a fantastic GPP dart throw.
