Running Back

Chalk:

Kareem Hunt, Devonta Freeman, and Jay Ajayi have all played exceptionally well and find themselves in terrific spots for production. Just below them is an egregiously underpriced Ty Montgomery, who should be one of the most popular running back plays on the slate.

Pivots:

Le'Veon Bell, $8,700 (at Chicago Bears): Going into this season, there's no way anyone would have expected Le'Veon Bell to be below $9,000 and not be the absolute chalk in a matchup against the Chicago Bears -- yet, here we are. Bell has just 138 yards in two games and is averaging a measly 8.6 FanDuel points and 3.14 yards per touch.

That, coupled with the home/road splits narrative that tends to follow the Pittsburgh Steelers each week, might be enough to keep Bell's ownership down. Even against a talented front seven for Chicago, an underpriced and under-owned Bell is a tournament-winning recipe.

While Chicago has held their opponents to low efficiency numbers on the ground, their offense has been so anemic that opposing backfields have put up strong fantasy numbers. So far, the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers backfields have averaged 110 scrimmage yards and have scored 2 touchdowns. With the Steelers listed as seven-point favorites, Bell should get a ton of work.

Christian McCaffrey, $6,800 (vs. New Orleans Saints): Christian McCaffrey also would seem an unlikely candidate for low ownership with a home matchup against the Saints on tap, but it seems unlikely FanDuel players will go out of their way to roster him with so many other strong plays, among them Ty Montgomery at just $400 more. While the spot for McCaffrey is awesome, his production just hasn't been there and he seems a bit overpriced on FanDuel, where he doesn't even benefit from full point per reception scoring.

This game's over/under (46.5 points) is the fifth-highest on the slate, and it wouldn't be surprising to see it feature the most offensive plays of the entire weekend. Both teams ranked in the top-six in total plays per game in 2016, with New Orleans topping the list. That could mean a lot of snaps for McCaffrey, who actually ranks inside the top-10 among NFL backs in snap rate (67%). He's out-snapped Jonathan Stewart 90-to-54 through two games and is just one behind Kelvin Benjamin (13) for the team lead in targets. If the past two weeks are any indication, he could see tons of usage.

Also, in case you were unaware, the Saints are not good at stopping opposing running backs. Dalvin Cook totaled 137 yards against them in Week 1, and Mike Gillislee and James White combined for 165 yards and a score in Week 2. It's scary to imagine what type of numbers McCaffrey could put up in this game.
