The Jaguars' 10 Sacks Were the Most in the League

After finishing 2016 with just 33 sacks, the Jacksonville Jaguars emptied their pockets to give Calais Campbell $60 million over the next four years. That paid off in a big way, as Campbell led all players with four sacks in Week 1. Yannick Ngakoue added two, while four other Jaguars chipped in with at least a half-sack each.

The Jaguars' 10 sacks are the most in a game by any NFL team since 2014, when Jacksonville allowed the Washington Redskins to rack up 10 of their own.

Jacksonville's defensive front was as good as the Houston Texans offensive line as bad. Their 10 sacks allowed in Week 1 equal almost one-third of the 32 sacks they gave up all of last season. It was so lousy that center Nick Martin was the only player to rank inside the top 40 at his position as per Pro Football Focus' pass blocking grades.

We can't expect them to give up 10 sacks every week, but Houston's offensive line struggles will make their opposition a great defensive streaming option.

As far as the Jaguars go, a repeat performance in Week 2 is doubtful, as they take on the Tennessee Titans, who allowed a single sack in their opening game. But with the addition of Campbell, the Jags should be on every fantasy owner's streaming radar in better matchups.
