This is our glaring failing grade of the 2017 NFL Draft class. The Chicago Bears, with plenty of holes and needs on their roster, swapped three draft picks to move up only one spot in the NFL Draft -- to get a player they probably were going to get anyway. They selected quarterback Mitchell Trubisky second overall, and while it addresses a need, that’s a tough sell to give up that much for one spot. They also got an impact safety late in the draft, snagging Alabama’s Eddie Jackson after he fell to the fourth round.

The fourth-round running back they drafted was not a need, however, especially when North Carolina A&T’s Tarik Cohen is almost certain to be a special-teams only type of player. The Bears added Kutztown guard Jordan Morgan, which will help them protect their quarterbacks, but he is a risky play from a Division-II school. Tight end Adam Shaheen from D-II Ashland is also more of a luxury than a need, and he's a risk more than a second-round slam dunk. Shaheen is the most likely of these three players to hit, but none of these picks address a need and all are risky.
