David Johnson, RB, Arizona Cardinals

FanDuel Price: $8,700
Salary Change: Down $1,100

After being priced at $9,800 a week ago, David Johnson’s salary has plummeted $1,100 to $8,700 in Week 16. What could cause a price drop this steep? Only a matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

Many DFS players will be scared off of Johnson in this game, as Seattle has allowed the fewest FanDuel points to running backs by a wide margin this season -- just 7.6 points per game. Despite their dominance, however, they’ve actually allowed some big games this year. Three different running backs, including David Johnson, have scored at least 20 FanDuel points against the Seahawks this season.

In DJ’s first matchup with Seattle this season, he piled up 171 total yards and 8 receptions en route to a 21.1-point performance on FanDuel.

This is the lowest his salary has been since Week 11 ($8,300) when he was in another perceived tough matchup with Minnesota. He only managed to score 31.5 FanDuel points in that game.

In the last three seasons when a running back has seen this steep of a salary decrease, their ownership drops by 51 percent in the following week. Seeing as how DJ was owned in 41.39 percent of all contests last week, we can reasonably expect him to be around 20 percent owned this weekend.

Getting a matchup-proof, stud running back at one of his lowest salaries and ownership levels all season? This is an easy play in tournaments.
