It’s been a rough season for Green Bay Packers fans. The once-dominant offense has slumped to merely mortal levels, and the defense that we thought would improve is once again showing its cracks. Packers fans are finally seeing how the sausage (or is it bratwurst?) is made for their team, and it’s not pretty.

That was on full display in the opening seconds of the game this week against the Indianapolis Colts. Most people would think the Colts relied on the cannon arm of quarterback Andrew Luck to pick apart the cheesehead defense, but the scoring started literally from the get-go, when Green Bay kicker Mason Crosby boomed the opening kickoff to the Indy one-yard line. Colts returner Jordan Todman slalomed his way through the coverage unit for a 99-yard return score, a lead the Colts wouldn’t relinquish for the rest of the game.
