Deadlines are a marvelous motivating force.

I always like to say that I’m “maximizing the use of my time-based resources” when I hand in an assignment at the eleventh hour, but in truth, sometimes I just can’t muster up the effort to get it done until it absolutely must get done. They say “necessity is the mother of invention”; I say “necessity is the mother of motivation”.

We truly don’t celebrate the procrastinators enough in society, those marvelous heroes who miraculously get their work in in the nick of time. But we do in football.

We love the last-gasp, game-saving plays that yank a team back from the jaws of defeat or clinch the lead with no time left. We admire the late-game heroic drives down the field and the crunch time field goal kicks that put even a comeback miracle out of reach. We adore these heroic procrastinators, who wait until the last second to win the game -- but give us a good story to tell about it.

Let’s not delay any longer: what were the most impactful plays of Week 7 by numberFire’s Net Expected Points (NEP) metric?
