Philadelphia Eagles

FanDuel Price: $4,600
Projections: 19.51 points allowed, 3.16 sacks, 2.54 turnovers, 0.22 touchdowns

If you can’t afford Kansas City or you think Green Bay will underperform on Sunday, then take a look at our third-highest projected defense for Week 9. The Philadelphia D/ST is $200 more expensive than Green Bay, and as a result, they will likely be much lower owned in tournaments.

The Eagles’ defense has major upside in any given week, which when paired with a low ownership can give you a monster payday. In fact, they were on the $300,000 winning Sunday Million lineup in Week 7 when they scored 24 FanDuel points against the Minnesota Vikings.

They’ll face off against the New York Giants this week, a team that has failed to score more than 20 points in all but two games this season. Bettors aren’t expecting the Giants to score much more than that this week -- the Vegas total has already dropped 1 point from its opener to 43 points, and the Giants have a mediocre implied team total of 22.75 points.

The Eagles’ defense isn’t advisable for cash games, as they’re 2.5-point underdogs to the Giants and there’s a possibility that they won’t have many opportunities for fantasy scoring throughout this game. But if the game script goes awry and Eli Manning is forced to pass 35-plus times, the big play ability of the Philadelphia defense can turn in a monster performance. With low ownership, that makes them the top tournament play in Week 9.
