The Green Bay D/ST checks in with our fourth-most projected FanDuel points this week, but there are reasons to believe that they could finish as the number-one scoring defense in Week 9.
Similar to Kansas City, the Packers are 7.5-point home favorites against a team in the top five of pass-run ratio -- the Indianapolis Colts are fifth in the league, passing on 64.41 percent of their plays. With this heavy percentage of pass plays, opposing defenses have been able to take advantage of the Colts’ poor offensive line play and slow-developing, vertical passing game.
The Colts have been unable to protect Andrew Luck this season -- he’s been sacked five or more times in four of their eight games this season. Green Bay has shown the potential to get after the quarterback this season, as they’re tied for 11th in the NFL with 19 sacks.
The Packers' D still hasn’t put it all together in a single performance in 2016. Despite their sack total and forcing eight turnovers on the year, they only hit double digit FanDuel points once when they scored 12.0 against the Chicago Bears two weeks ago.
But with the perfect intersection of a cheap salary, Vegas odds, and matchup, the Packers are in a position to have their best FanDuel performance of the season.
