If you’re not playing the Thursday through Monday slate or Sunday through Monday slate, then the Denver D/ST will be the most expensive defense of the weekend. Unlike the Vikings, the Broncos’ defense has only scored 10-plus FanDuel points twice this season in seven games. Those two performances (15 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 22 versus the Indianapolis Colts) have buoyed their FanDuel points-per-game average.

The Broncos will host the San Diego Chargers in Week 8, which will be the second time these teams have faced off this season. In general, defenses have the upper hand against divisional opponents after their first matchup of the season, especially when they’re home favorites. Over the last three seasons, defenses that are favored at home against a divisional foe in their second matchup of the year have reached cash-game value 51% of the time. Any time a D/ST has a 50/50 shot of reaching 10 FanDuel points, you need to jump on it.

Right behind the Bears, the Chargers have an implied team total of just 19 points this weekend. We don’t project them for many more points (21), so it should be a long afternoon for San Diego’s offense. On the main slate, the Broncos are the top D/ST choice.
