Pittsburgh Steelers

FanDuel Price: $4,800
Projections: 19.99 points allowed, 2.60 sacks, 1.59 turnovers, 0.26 touchdowns

Sometimes in NFL DFS, it pays to use a mediocre defense with a great matchup, and the Pittsburgh D/ST fits that description this week. They’re averaging just 5.2 FanDuel points per game and have yet to reach cash game value (two times their salary in points), so we won’t be mistaking them for the Denver D/ST or Minnesota D/ST anytime soon.

However, they will have the pleasure of facing the Miami Dolphins this week, a team that allowed six sacks and two turnovers last week, all (unbelievably) against four or fewer pass rushers. The offensive line was such a mess that Miami actually cut two of their starters from Sunday’s game against the Titans -- Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner.

They may return rookie Laremy Tunsil this week, who was injured in pregame warmups on Sunday, but the fact still remains that the Dolphins were so disappointed with their offensive line play that they decided to flat out release two guys instead of demoting them.

For Pittsburgh, this spot is similar to last week’s game against the New York Jets as they are 7.5-point favorites with one of the highest team totals (27.5) of the weekend. If the Steelers’ offense scores as expected, Miami will be forced to pass to keep up in the second half -- which is fantastic news for the Steelers' defense given Miami’s pass protection woes.
