3 FanDuel Defenses to Target in Week 5

This Minnesota Vikings defense has absolutely dominated through four weeks of the 2016 regular season. In their last three games, they’ve allowed just one total passing touchdown to the elite trio of Aaron Rodgers, Cam Newton and Eli Manning.

This season, they’re averaging a ridiculous 16.75 FanDuel points per game, but that’s not necessarily good news. Defenses that average at least 15 FanDuel points over the previous month are generally higher priced moving forward and tend to fall back down to earth. As a result, these teams have only reached cash game value (two times their salary in points) 30.2% of the time over the last three years.

This expected regression is apparent in this week’s projections -- the Vikings are currently ranked 18th for Week 5.

But it’s hard to account for new elite defenses in both projections and historical trends. The Minnesota D/ST has major upside, as they’ve already totaled 15 sacks and 11 turnovers this season. A dominating performance versus Brock Osweiler and the Houston Texans is not out of the question, and they’re a top GPP option with the potential to be the highest scoring D/ST in any given week.
