3 Daily Fantasy Football Players to Avoid in Week 3

Demaryius Thomas has a tough road matchup with the Bengals. What other players should we avoid this week?

Two weeks down, and only 15 to go. This year's data means more this week than it did last week, but we still want to keep in the back of our minds what teams and players did last season, as well.

As always, we'll be using data and from our Net Expected Points (NEP) metric to help identify a quarterback, running back and receiver who are in bad spots for Week 3.

Last week, the three players who landed on this list were Ryan Tannehill, Justin Forsett, and Dez Bryant.

The Tannehill pick looked good early as he didn't complete a pass until the second quarter and had under 100 yards and zero touchdowns at halftime. But the Jimmy Garoppolo injury changed the entire complexion of the game, and Tannehill went nuts in the second half, finishing with 387 yards and two touchdowns. He ended the day with 25.1 FanDuel points.

Forsett was turrrrrrrible, rushing for 37 yards on 14 carries. He also caught three passes for nine yards. He scored 6.1 FanDuel points.

Bryant ended up having a serviceable game in a tough spot. He was peppered with 12 targets on the day, and he turned those into 7 catches, 102 yards and 13.7 FanDuel points.

In DFS, the best players aren't always the best plays for a particular week. Salaries, matchups and projected ownership all need to be considered when building lineups. With that said, here are three players you should keep on the bench during Week 3 of the NFL season.
