3 FanDuel Defenses to Target in Week 2

It’s not very often that you will find the Denver Broncos' defense not at the top of the FanDuel D/ST pricing, but a matchup with Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts will do it. Luck lit up the Detroit Lions last week with 385 yards en route to 35 FanDuel points, but don’t expect that to happen this week against the exceptional Broncos’ pass defense, which held Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers to just 194 passing yards and 20 points in the season opener.

Last week, the Colts had a very unbalanced offensive attack -- 47 pass attempts versus just 19 rushing attempts. Many DFS players may shy away from a defense facing an elite quarterback, but if any team, let alone a team with a poor offensive line, passes the ball 40-plus times against this Broncos' defense, it’s not hard to imagine them surpassing our projections of 2.74 sacks and 2.02 turnovers.

It will be interesting to see the ownership numbers on the Broncos and Panthers defense in GPPs this weekend. While the Panthers are the superior play, they cost $600 more. If you drop down to the Broncos, those savings could upgrade your running back position from Eddie Lacy to DeAngelo Williams. Unless value opens up elsewhere this weekend, the Broncos may be one of the higher owned defenses on Sunday due to the pricing tiers.
