5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Friday 3/24/23

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays.

If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at some players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup on FanDuel tonight, using numberFire's daily fantasy basketball projections as a guide.

Simone Fontecchio, SF, Jazz ($4,600)
Talen Horton-Tucker, SG/SF, Jazz ($5,500)

The Utah Jazz are one of the go-to spots for value tonight. They're going to be without Lauri Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson, Collin Sexton and Rudy Gay.

That makes Simone Fontecchio and Talen Horton-Tucker two of the better value options on the board.

With those four off the floor this season, THT has a 27.5% usage rate and generates 41.6 FanDuel points per 36 minutes, according to CourtIQ. Fontecchio owns a 23.9% usage rate in the split and racks up 28.5 FanDuel points per 36 minutes.

Both are superb options against the Milwaukee Bucks in a game with a 236.0-point total.

As of early Friday, our model has Fontecchio as the night's top point-per-dollar play, projecting him for 26.6 FanDuel points -- 5.78 per $1,000. We have Horton-Tucker projected for 28.1 FanDuel points (5.10 per $1,000).

Monte Morris, PG, Wizards ($5,300)
Deni Avdija, SF/PF, Wizards ($6,000)

The Washington Wizards are another place we can turn to for low-salary production as Kyle Kuzma and Bradley Beal will be sidelined.

In tonight's floor condition, gobs of usage (39.4%) has been funneled toward Kristaps Porzingis, and he's an elite play. But among the value options, Deni Avdija and Monte Morris stand out.

In the split, Avdija has scored 37.4 FanDuel points per 36 minutes on a 20.5% usage rate. Morris has put up 31.4 FanDuel points per 36 minutes on a 22.7% usage rate.

On top of that, the Wiz have a delightful matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, a team that is 21st in defensive rating over the last 10 games while playing at the 4th-fastest pace.

We project Morris for 27.8 FanDuel points (5.24 per $1,000) and Avdija to post 30.1 FanDuel points (5.01 per $1,000).

Josh Okogie, SG/SF, Suns ($5,100)

Josh Okogie is a low-salary way to get exposure to the night's best fantasy environment. The Phoenix Suns are on the road to take on the Sacramento Kings in a matchup with a slate-leading 239.0-point total and 4.5-point spread.

The Kings are a very fantasy-friendly foe. Sacramento ranks next to last in defensive rating over the last 10 games while playing at the 11th-fastest pace. They've allowed the eighth-most FanDuel points per game to small forwards (42.5) across the last 15 games.

Okogie hit for a spike game last week, going off for 41.6 FanDuel points against the Orlando Magic, so the ceiling is there. He's usually a decent bet for good minutes, too, playing at least 30 minutes in four of his past six outings. It only helps that Kevin Durant and Deandre Ayton are out.

Our algorithm has him scoring 25.7 FanDuel points (5.03 per $1,000), and there's upside for more if this game really shoots out.
